    I really like the Stoneridge EZ-ELD device. I like how it comes with all the adapters, it was easy to install, I like the mobile app, I think the administrative interface is great and I love the incredible technical phone support!

    As far as the cost goes, they’re on the lower end of the spectrum. As you can see, you can easily pay over $1,000 a year for an ELD device, but with Stoneridge you’re looking at about $300 for your first year. Independent Owner-Operators are very price sensitive when it comes to additional expenses, so that’s a great deal.

    In case you’re wondering why this company is even involved in this ELD race, Stoneridge currently supplies the European market with an ELD device which is referred to as a “tachograph”. For more info about that, visit: http://www.se5000.com/default.html

        We are having a difficult time with this device. So far cannot find mileage state form anywhere. Won’t start sometimes and sometimes for no reason stops working. Yes it is connected correctly. No customer support. We call and call but no return call. We purchased a year subscription. Please advise

    Heard about this ELD on XM radio. Giving this a try since you get free software until the date of the mandate. So far it works well for my small fleet.

    If you plan to attach this device to older engine with 6-pin connector,you may experience issues to make it TRUE “Compliant” with FMCSA…. fmcsa now have web site to test outcome file,your 8 days log to be more correct.What i’m trying to say,when X day comes and officer stops you for inspection,you sending him file to his email and seconds later he says he can’t open file and look on log…that is probably OOS order…So i sent one copy of the log to my email and uploaded it to federals web page for test run……guess what!?in my case this device is not compliant with ELD Rule at all!it is missing lot of DOT required data from engine like engine hours, not totaling miles correctly,loosing gps signal when you shutting down/power up engine. Remember guys YOU or YOUR carrier must check on your own outcome file on FMCSA test web site for compliance.DOT is not require eld makers to check this, so they will stay on self-certified list but technically very few company have checked and confirmed that it will go thru FMCSA system without any issues.
    Other than that App is stable but some features like adding notes when changing status is not realy driver friendly

    We have been experiencing numerous issues with this device. Initially, I thought it was something I was doing wrong, but even after getting it connected, I am having problems with it indicating there is a violation when there is not. It is also not keeping track of the odometer reading correctly and now it will not recognize the fact that the driver is moving. It keeps going back to ‘on duty, not driving’. One day, we received a violation indicating that the driver had been driving over 14 hours – this was around 7:30 am on the first day he was using the device.

      This product is garbage.
      Getting help is almost impossible. when you call them they never there & never pick up answering machine comes on.
      I have called him over 50 times for help never have I got anybody on the phone yet.
      I took product back to Truckstop we bought it from and we turned it. This product is so bad they didn’t even question me when I returned it they already knew what the problem was
      Buyer beware !!!

    I’m about to switch my 2000 F350 7.3 6 speed that I do hotshots with to an ELD (as mandated) and an hearing older vehicles are having problems. Will I have problems connecting this to a 2000 super duty?

    Never had it working longer than 2 weeks at a time a ton of software problems equipment malfunctions you name it it’s giving us problems company is very slow to respond for help been waiting a week for just a call back

    I work for 4 different owner ops they ALL decided to use your device and every one of them could NOT get the device to connect to their tablet or phone. I could not get a hold of anyone in tech support which made an even bigger mess.

    Hooked one of two drivers phone to it went to pair the other drivers phone and the dongle in the dash smelled like burning wires and now nothing on the eld with pair to either phone. Support doesn’t answer or call back if you leave a message.

    Can’t get it to work right and I don’t want that same damn message that you send everyone. I paid a lot of money for this piece of shit, and I need someone to contact me ASAP!!! I have been calling and sending emails with no response, is stone bridge someone’s house a nursing home or what?! You are messing with my job and lively hood by not backing up your product with technical support.

    Omg what a nightmare. Driver took an off duty break, turned key in ignition to lower window, device changed him to driving while vehicle was parked. Driver has a violation that can’t be fixed. Left email and voice mails on 2 separate days. Suspect this company is inundated with calls and can’t keep up. Back office/admin function is supposed to be able to see missing mileage and click on icon to resolve, can’t click on icon. Driver can’t see blinking lights with OBD unit installed as it is located under steering wheel on medium weight truck, should have mentioned this in set up. No idea how to use trip function as not clear in manual. I’ve watched all 9 You Tube videos, printed over 200 pages of guides, read them and am frustrated. Driver continuously gets Data diagnostic error #3, no idea how to fix it. Also unit only set up late on 16th but lots show errors on 15th. Going to return unit, cancel subscription and find a other provder.

    We got the device thru Unique Trucking, arrived on time. We have call Stroneridge ez eld customer service since Friday and we haven’t had any employee calling us back. We have email, we have sent message thru the support page. many times and today is Tuesday. Device in the truck keep disconnecting the Bluetooth connection and then you have to enter the hole information like it was the first time. (time consuming) Every time you log on it take to long on tablet or phone. Back office log on take for ever. VERY BAD SYSTEM AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. and we paid already for the service. DON’T BUY THIS ITEM, YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH DOT. I CALL AGAIN AND I SPEAK WITH SALES, THEY TOLD ME THEY ONLY HAVE 10 EMPLOYEES FOR THE 8,000 PHONE CALLS THAT THEY ARE GETTING IN SUPPORT. DONT GET THIS ONE

    The app downloaded and the little dongle changed colors, but it wouldn’t let me get past the first code confirmation from email, so it’s all for naught. My boss says nobody can ever get in contact with support, either.

    Now I get to see if I can squeak by without getting a ticket right before Christmas. Yay me.

    Bad choice! Purchased 3 units. Problems staying connected. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are responding to bad reviews on here, but if you call or email they will not answer or respond. Have made multiple calls. They keep you on hold for about 10 minutes then the line disconnects.

    Problem with the connection, No customer service we keep trying to call all the numbers they had on their website even on the driver’s manual still no respond even emails no reply. You cannot talk to anybody from this company.

    DO NOT BUY THIS USELESS CRAP! We bought two devices and we got problems with both of them non-stop.

    First one, keeps my driver disconnecting every 1-2 hours and he is required to stop and reconnect to it. He also tried switching up his phone which made no difference at all. Also, the app crashes which disconnects him as well. Driver tried to reinstall the app and no difference.

    Second one, started throwing codes on the truck (vehicle ECU and airbag codes). As soon as you unplug it, the truck shows not a single code and everything is perfectly fine. I got a hold of Stoneridge and they recommended to downgrade the update to 8.0 and back to 9.0 after. That didnt help at all so I contacted them again. Then i ordered another one hoping it was the device that is faulty. Once we have received the new device, same problems kept happening. Then, on Dec. 18, we couldn’t even log in to the app at all which made both trucks stay home and loose money already on the first day. Attempted to contact Stoneridge again, but this time I cannot get a hold of anyone at all. Today is evening of Dec. 20 and we havent gotten any response back after multiple calls and voicemails. Also, e-mailed their support which clearly useless as well.

    We started testing these devices about 3 weeks ago and it has non-stop problems. It does have a nice user interface but that is it. We will not continue to use this crap and we will go with a different company.

    The ez-eld is not a user friendly device. The instructions say nothing about setting up the back office. (YouTube me) the gauge like clusters around the times do nothing , looks like they should start to light up to warn you about running out of time. It has only let me enter one fuel receipts , now time I try it just says unsuccessful and doesn’t give the reason why. We messaged ez-eld but had no response back. We called and it had a message that said they was on mountain time. I’m not sure who gets the $15 a month but this thing is a joke. The whole thing needs to be more user friendly. It doesn’t tell you what you may not have filled out or left blank

    So out of the 10 purchased we have 4 in vehicles and 2 would nor pair with Apple IOS and 2 paired for 1 day with android. As with all of the other complaints on here, support does not answer or return calls. Was highly recommended by Unique Truck, but they all may go back unless we can get compliant pretty quick here.

    Absolute piece of garbage. I spend 2 hours a day trying to get it to work. No customer support at all. Constantly loses Bluetooth signal, GPS signal and app keeps shutting down. Then it starts beeping and says you’re driving without being logged in. I had to pull over 13 times in one day and log back in. Lost 3 hours that day. Stay away

    This ankle bracelet is not EZ at all I have one truck and have spend numerous hrs trying to figure it out I can’t even get a log grid to come up al I can access is someone’s office lol like fleet management an all kinds of other unnecessary garbage I will never use

    This is not a reliable ELD, tec support is in another country and probably the origin, how the government allows this kind of things to happend! Safety on the technology that needs constant updates. I am a Driver, not a office operator sit without responsibility. Very disappointed.

    My name is David, hotshot driver, and just got this device. I started setting up the “back office” portion of the Stoneridge late last night and will be installing the actual GPS unit into my truck today, as well as syncing my smartphone to it.

    Once I use it for a little bit, I’ll be sure to post a follow up review but wanted to get this initial one out because so far my experience has been positive.

    I love how it comes with different adapters (9 pin, OBD ll port, etc.) as part of the $150 price and love how the monthly subscription is on the lower end of the spectrum at $15 month. With the base subscription, comes the all important IFTA tracking where others charge a higher monthly rate for.

    I have to say, so far the company has come through with 5 stars in terms of customer service. I will see how they do when I start using and calling customer service for the hardware setup process in my truck, and for doing the required software update that Rick Golden, their Strategic Marketing Manager, made sure to inform me that it is a must-do before using it on the road. Hats off to him and a big thank you for your excellent customer service.

    Their webpage for the “back office” setup is easy to use and well thought out. And their instructional videos are very helpful for the set up the entire processs. The videos are even all in the correct order as one needs them. Here’s a link to them.

    I am new to EZ ELD use. For years, I have used paper logs but getting started with electronic logging and a new tablet has been challenging. I have had many questions and needed a lot of help. Each time I have called tech support, they have been prompt in answering the phone, courteous, and were able to solve my problems. High five goes out to Matt and Ryan. I highly recommend this product.

    I’ve had this installed in my truck since December 17th, and have yet to be able to count on it. I can’t recommend this to anyone. No one seems to know why the eld will not communicate with the truck. I’ve been told to reset the dongle every time and it does nothing. I was sent a link to the videos, which are useless. Time to get a refund and cancel my subscription. Useless dash ornament that blinks and makes noises.

    We have been using this junk for about three months.12 units, Nothing but problems.
    Their next contact will be from FMCSA as i’m turning all my results into them, so hopefully they will take away their self certification and put an end to this money waster.
    This product is total junk!
    As for whoever is posting the reply’s from Stoneridge, it does no good to send email to you at elog@stoneridge.com because these are not answered either!

    The support is terrible. I have tired to call and left numerous messages but no response at all. I have sent emails and the same thing – no response.     Junk. Not user friendly. No good for canadian cross border carriers. Returning Mine after it wont stay connected thro Bluetooth i cant listen to the beeping steady. It creates it own log once it disconnects then impossible to edit to correct it

      Sometimes it helps to use the extension cable that comes in the box to affix your EZ-ELD up on the dashboard. This may eliminate the loss of Bluetooth connectivity.

    My driver has been having issues since day 1 with this device, no customer support what so ever, have called, emailed you name it, no response. Going to JJ Keller and not looking back. The best part about this is, headquarters are in UK,

    I purchased this system because I’m a small business with three trucks. I was having a problem getting a tablet to connect to software. I called customer service and got Ryan, he has been awesome in every sense of the word. Patience, helpful!!!! and knowledgeable in every area. Thank you Ryan for helping a little computer knowledge lady, get her ELD’s up and running on the tablet.

    Horrible device. Constantly losing bluetooth connection which creates diagnostic and communication errors. Daily “unidentified logs” Daily “missing miles” issues. I spend an average of an extra 15-30 minutes a day trying to fix the errors and issing data issues. Constantly have to log out and back in to be able to complete the DVIR. Customer service is non existent. About to attempt canceling my subscription. I shudder at the thought of this task. I have no doubt that it will take another 10 months to accomplish that. My recommendation is, DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE!!!!!

    I’ve had the Ez ELD in my truck since the mandate began and have had a few issues here and there. I have found that customer service has responded promptly to my issues, and have been very helpful in resolving the issues whether it was me doing something wrong or the software or hardware. We’re all in this together and learning as we go. They have also been very open to suggestions for improvements coming from the drivers perspective. I am very pleased that I chose the Ez ELD!

      Keep the EZ-ELD® application running in the foreground: While the EZ-ELD application is running in the foreground — with the EZ-ELD application displayed on your screen — it will receive top priority from the phone’s operating system, helping to enable smooth and stable performance. Background operation — with the EZ-ELD application open but not displayed — is possible, but it may not be as stable, especially on phones or tablets with limited memory and processing power.

      Close any unused applications: Applications left open and running in the background consume phone memory and processing power. In order to maximize the available phone or tablet resources for your EZ-ELD application, please close any unnecessary or unused applications.

      Does your EZ-ELD occasionally beep? If the EZ-ELD loses its connection with the application, it will automatically try to reconnect. A successful re-connection is indicated by a single beep from the device. If you hear single beeps frequently, this can indicate an unstable connection. Running the EZ-ELD application in the foreground, closing other applications, or placing the phone closer to the EZ-ELD can help.

      Does your EZ-ELD continuously beep? The EZ-ELD will start to beep continuously if it is not connected to the application when the vehicle starts to move. As per FMCSA regulations, manual re-connection of the application to the EZ-ELD can only be made while your vehicle is stopped. Please note that if you lose the connection, the device can still be used normally, as all of your driver logs are stored on the EZ-ELD. These are stored as unidentified driver events that can be retrieved at a later date by reconnecting to the application.

    Doesnt make any sense. They respond to reviews on another website… But when you call their company directly numerous times during business hours they never pick up… When you leave voicemails, they never call back… And when you send the emails they never reply. But they respond to reviews on a rating website trying to save face in front of other potential customers. Here’s a tip that can make the difference between staying in business and going out of business: TAKE CARE OF YOUR CURRENT PAYING CUSTOMERS. Right now I could not in good conscience recommend your company to even someone I hated. The clock is still running on voicemails i left you over 30 days ago. You got 300 bucks, now you need to hold up your end!!!

    As a follow up, it’s fairly obvious that all the positive reviews on this page were posted by the company itself in a weak attempt to improve their rating on this website. The reveiws have no details and are almost all say the exact same thing. What a joke. Deceptive, completely inept, and unscrupulous company. You are simply taking advantage of a mandate in order to make money. Which is all well and fine if you take seriously your responsibility to deliver on your product and services. Which clearly, 2 months in you’ve shown that you have no desire to do. We made the mistake of paying a year subscription up front. After reporting issues and requesting assistance through multiple avenues to your company we have not received so much as a call back. Disgraceful.

    well after having 2 other devices not working properly I sent each one back.the 2 previous you could never get thru for hours and days and when I did they know they have problems and I received so many emails that they were working on the problem and said use a paper log for now. right. I called stoneridge and. talked to them and I purchase their product and received excellent help installing it. I’m on my layover this weekend and it’s working so far. Sunday I start my run, I’ll find out. I have 2017 ford f350 and the product had all the adaptors. when I had a question during setup I called and got to someone who.

Not only did he address my previous issues with service, but he also helped me address my initial issues. After explaining the service challenges and outlining a specific commitment to improve he has convinced me that his company, Stoneridge, is doing the right things to improve. With leadership like him I believe this company will have our back in the future.

    I purchased EZ ELD system in December 2018. The system never worked correctly from day one. The system would allow you to login and then it would kick you out making you login all over. Then the system would make you certify unidentified logs from previous login. The interface of this system is severely flawed enough to get a carrier put out of service due to not being logged in and the officer believing that you done it on purpose. I had to demonstrate to an Officer inside of an scale house that it’s not me it’s the device. I was down a week trying to fix this issue with technical support, but still no solution only another suggestion. I’ve troubleshot for at least 5 hours with their technical support and they have no answer nor solution. They admit the system isn’t working,sent me an replacement system and the same thing. Then I ask for a refund and send the system back and for 10 days I’m waiting for a refund for a product that has been received by them and now it’s the run-around and you can’t reach anyone. This company isn’t a company anyone should do business with because they are the typical”we’ve already got your money so we’re not in any hurry to return it!” I call it robbery and false advertising to advertise a product that clearly will not work. They can say this update is the fix but they don’t know. My friend has the system same problem and 3 other owner operators have had and left this company. I advise to steer clear of these people and their equipment so you can avoid the excuses for their system being crap. I’ve contacted an attorney to find out my options and will take the next steps necessary to getting a refund for the system and the service that was not provided. I believed what they advertised and they lied and will string you along hoping you’ll go away. I’m not letting this go and companies like this must be challenged by all those whom they failed. Please beware cheap isn’t always good!!!!!!

    An Unending Torrent of glitches, inexplicable malfunctions, APP switch from OFF DUTY to DRIVING two Fridays in a row, showing 15plus hours of driving with motor off. Would be suprised if one week out of four is without LogBook Error.

    What are we to do but grit our teeth and pray… no cash refunds

    O Hi , like the other two guys said that this device is garbage , well I will stand next to them , it is 1000 % garbage , I been using this device since December 2017, since then I am a total fraud , because of this device, to many problems and customer support 0 THATS RIGHT ZERO CUSTOMER SUPORT , THEY DONT HAVE LIVE PERSON TO ANSWER THE PHONE, , so here r few problems , 1 , device is lousing connectivity whit your ( tablet . phone, etc ) so from that moment , not only that you r being signet out by the device , but your status is going to change by himself , for example if you r in driving status it will change in on duty status not driving, 2, if you want to reconnect back ( sign in again ) sometimes it takes , half hour 30 minutes for device to respond, , 3 , ok now lets say that you manage to use the device for 3 days , and you think that all thre days , you did by the book , when your going to certify , the unidentified logs ,, SURPRIZE , YOUR GOING TO BE IN ANY TYPE OFF VIOLATION POSSIBLE , example , driving over 8 hour , whit out half hour brake , driving over 11 hour rule , driving over 14 hour rule 4 , next point is that you going to sleep after you finis a day off driving , next day when you wake up , you will see that that in the middle off the 10 hour sleep you actually you drove half hour , wile you where slipping , , So People I do not recomand this device, stay away from this GARBAGE , I fill sorry for my self that I spent $ 300 dollars for this , in one word I lost the money , and time,

    Very easy to use. Has some things I don’t like but I’ve made the suggestions to them. And one was already in the works. I’ve only used TeleTrac before this and this was a lot easier to use and learn.

    I have had numerous problems with this unit, now here I am less than a week away from hard enforcement, and it violates me while in was sleeping. Telling me I was sleep DRIVING after my 14 hrs clock I guess. I can say I have had people return my phone calls, but the best they can do is send me an email that I am supposed to attach to my logs showing I am trying to fix it. I have Been running paper in conjunction with the blog just to try to stay compliant. Come on guys and fix this thing or return our money

    It worked great for 5 days then went to get in the truck and it won’t pair with my phone, iPhone 8, after about a 1/2 hour of messing with it I called support, of course I got someone named Mark that could barely speak English, spent 1 1/2 hours with him still not working, now I’m on the road without a eld

    Good Morning,

    Hey Stuart, this is Scott from Interstate Auto Transport, I just wanted to send you a quick message. Shawn and I were pulled into the Weigh Station this morning in Indiana for an ELD Inspection. This Officer has stopped us many times and knows us. To our surprise, it went extremely well. She asked for all of my log information, so I handed her my tablet, and as she went through it looking at all of the log info, she said “This is Great!!” She was very impressed with the ease of use navigating through everything and the way the entire system operated. She said it is one of the best systems she has seen. She even smiled, which made things easy for me to get in and out of there with no Violations!!!! So I just wanted to say Great Job to You and your team for all the effort and all of the hard work!!!
